Overview:

 

Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a remote team building scalable data solutions that support analytics, research, and AI/ML initiatives.

 

In this role, you'll design and maintain robust data pipelines, transform raw data into high-quality datasets, and collaborate with researchers and engineers to power next-generation AI systems. Responsibilities:
 
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines.
  • Collect, clean, transform, and organize structured and unstructured data.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and engineering teams to prepare AI-ready datasets.
  • Develop and maintain database schemas, data models, and storage solutions.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for efficient data processing.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and security.
  • Automate recurring data processing, reporting, and validation workflows.
  • Document data pipelines, technical decisions, and operational processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and database issues.
 
Requirements:

 

  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
  • Experience performing exploratory data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Pandas and NumPy.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and database design.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Strong attention to data quality and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with development environments such as Jupyter Notebook, VS Code, or PyCharm.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Exposure to AI and Machine Learning workflows.
  • Experience with scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Experience using the OpenAI API or similar AI platforms.
  • Experience preparing datasets for AI/ML model training.
  • Previous collaboration with researchers or data science teams.
