Overview:
Our client is seeking experienced Manufacturing Design Engineers to support an innovative AI training initiative focused on advanced mechanical design and manufacturing engineering.
In this role, you'll apply your expertise in parametric CAD modeling, engineering documentation, and production-ready design to help train next-generation AI systems. Your real-world engineering knowledge will contribute to creating accurate, high-quality design data that enables AI to better
understand manufacturing workflows and mechanical design principles.
No prior AI experience is required—your hands-on expertise in mechanical engineering and CAD design is what matters most.
Responsibilities:
- Create and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies using FreeCAD or similar CAD software.
- Develop production-ready engineering drawings, including GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing specifications.
- Design components for manufacturing processes such as:
- CNC machining
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Plastic part design
- Injection molding
- Perform CAD validation and quality assurance reviews to ensure production readiness.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, assembly instructions, and engineering references.
- Review and refine CAD models based on technical feedback.
- Maintain engineering accuracy, consistency, and compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Contribute real-world manufacturing expertise to improve AI training datasets.
Requirements:
- Strong experience with FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software.
- Experience creating production-quality mechanical components and assemblies.
- Knowledge of:
- Parametric CAD modeling
- Mechanical design
- 3D CAD modeling

- CAD validation
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Excellent technical documentation skills.

- Minimum 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing.
- Expertise in FreeCAD or comparable CAD platforms.
- Hands-on experience with:
- CNC machining
- Sheet metal fabrication

- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM best practices.
- Experience validating CAD models against real-world manufacturing requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
