Overview:

SourceBridge Co. is seeking experienced Civil Engineers to contribute their professional expertise to an advanced AI evaluation project.

In this role, you’ll use your knowledge of civil engineering, design standards, regulatory codes, technical documentation, and complex engineering constraints to create realistic evaluation tasks for next-generation AI systems.

No prior AI experience is required. Your civil engineering expertise and professional judgment are what matter.

You’ll work with realistic engineering materials such as drawings, geotechnical reports, specifications, cost estimates, spreadsheets, PDFs, datasets, and regulatory references to develop challenging scenarios that reflect professional engineering practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and author realistic civil engineering evaluation tasks covering areas such as structural design, transportation, water systems, and site development.
  • Source, generate, and curate technical documentation, including engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and regulatory references.
  • Develop complex engineering problems requiring constraint reasoning and code compliance.
  • Determine accurate engineering solutions while accounting for applicable technical, geometric, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create comprehensive multi-item grading rubrics to evaluate technical correctness and code compliance.
  • Generate and validate realistic technical datasets and project documentation in formats such as CSVs, PDFs, and spreadsheets.
  • Review tasks for technical accuracy, clarity, realism, and alignment with professional engineering practice.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to refine evaluation standards and task quality.

Requirements:
  • Strong professional experience in civil engineering and real-world engineering projects.
  • Excellent understanding of civil engineering principles, design practices, and applicable codes.
  • Ability to analyze complex engineering constraints and develop technically sound solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of technical documentation and engineering specifications.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory and engineering codes.
  • Strong written communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently on detailed, technically demanding assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional civil engineering experience across one or more relevant domains.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of professional licensure.
  • Experience with code-compliant design and technical specifications.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or managing engineering drawings, reports, and project documentation.
  • Strong experience interpreting regulatory codes and incorporating them into engineering solutions.
  • Familiarity with technical datasets, spreadsheets, PDFs, and other engineering project files.
  • Demonstrated ability to reason through complex constraints and real-world engineering trade-offs.
  • Experience working independently on remote technical projects.

Benefits:
  • $50–$100/hour potential compensation.
  • Fully remote, worldwide opportunity.
  • Flexible working environment.
  • Opportunity to apply professional civil engineering expertise to emerging AI technology.
  • Work with challenging, realistic engineering scenarios.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of more capable and reliable AI systems.
  • No previous AI experience required.

Hiring Process:
  1. Submit your application through SourceBridge Co.
  2. Your professional experience, engineering background, and qualifications will be reviewed.
  3. Qualified candidates may be invited to complete an assessment or additional evaluation.
  4. Selected experts complete the onboarding process.
  5. Begin contributing to project tasks, typically within 24–48 hours after onboarding.

Important: Compensation is output-based. Experts are paid per task that meets the applicable project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements may apply, including a required number of tasks per week.
