Overview:

SourceBridge Co. is seeking experienced GitHub Contributors and Senior Software Engineers with demonstrated open-source contributions to support an innovative project focused on training and improving next-generation AI systems.

In this role, you’ll apply your software engineering expertise to create and evaluate challenging environments that test AI models on real-world software engineering problems, including bug fixing, feature implementation, code refactoring, and performance optimization.

No prior AI experience is required — your software engineering and open-source expertise is what matters.

 

Open-Source Requirement:

Applicants must have clear, verifiable open-source contributions and a public profile showcasing their work, such as:

  • GitHub
  • GitLab
  • Other recognized open-source repositories

Profiles with contributions in C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust are particularly relevant.

 

 

Scope of Work:
  • Contribute expert-level code samples, debugging strategies, and development insights.
  • Work with Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex software defects.
  • Resolve performance bottlenecks across diverse codebases.
  • Implement robust and scalable software features.
  • Refactor and optimize legacy code.
  • Improve code clarity, efficiency, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Create reproducible environments for complex software engineering problems.
  • Develop golden reference solutions for AI evaluation.
  • Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions.
  • Review and validate peer-contributed code and technical submissions.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Significant hands-on expertise in at least one of:
  • Python 3
  • Java
  • Rust
  • Go
  • C++
  • TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to debug complex systems.
  • Experience fixing bugs and implementing performance improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent technical communication and documentation abilities.
  • Clear public open-source contributions on GitHub, GitLab, or a comparable platform.
  • A profile or portfolio that allows your technical contributions to be reviewed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with large or complex codebases.
  • Experience with legacy system refactoring and modernization.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact software features.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects.
  • Strong Git and collaborative development experience.
  • Experience reviewing code or technical submissions.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Interest in AI and emerging AI technologies.
  • Previous AI experience is not required.

Compensation Structure:

Compensation is output-based. Experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. 

 

The time required to complete each task may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply, and experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.

 

Hiring Process:
  1. Apply to the role and complete the screening questions.
  2. Complete an approximately 30-minute AI interview.
  3. Complete a technical assessment if required.
  4. Hiring Manager review.
  5. Selected candidates complete onboarding and begin project tasks.

 

 

Start Timeline:

 

Roles are typically filled within 48 hours.

 

Selected experts should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding.
