Overview:

SourceBridge Co. is seeking experienced MCP Experts for a flexible remote contractor opportunity focused on helping train and evaluate next-generation AI systems.

 

In this role, you will create Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments that test AI models on complex software engineering problems using Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools.

 

Tasks may involve debugging, feature implementation, codebase refactoring, or performance optimization while requiring AI agents to discover and reason over information from real MCP servers.

 

You will design reproducible environments, deterministic verification systems, and reference solutions that accurately evaluate both MCP tool usage and software engineering capabilities.

 

No prior AI experience is required — your software engineering expertise is what matters.

Responsibilities:

• Create realistic Reinforcement Learning environments for software engineering tasks involving MCP tools.
• Design tasks involving bug fixing, feature implementation, codebase refactoring, and performance optimization.
• Develop reproducible environments with clear setup and execution requirements.
• Create deterministic verification methods to accurately assess solutions.
• Develop high-quality golden reference solutions for assigned tasks.
• Evaluate whether AI agents can effectively discover, use, and reason over information from MCP servers.
• Assess software engineering solutions for correctness, maintainability, performance, and scalability.
• Apply strong debugging and code-review practices to identify technical issues.
• Optimize task environments and verification processes to maintain a high quality standard.
• Provide clear documentation and structured feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote working environment.

 

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in one or more of C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Strong knowledge of software performance tuning and optimization.
• Demonstrated experience debugging complex software issues.
• Experience developing and implementing software features.
• Strong background in codebase refactoring and maintainable software design.
• Proven ability to optimize software for performance and scalability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with large-scale or distributed codebases.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine learning systems.
• Previous experience with MCP or related tool-integrated AI workflows.
• Experience participating in rigorous code reviews.
• Experience establishing or following software engineering best practices.
• Background in building reproducible technical environments or automated verification systems.
