QA Engineer (Remote)

Overview:

SourceBridge Co. is seeking a skilled QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of modern software products.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with engineering, product, and other teams throughout the software development lifecycle. You’ll test new features, identify and document defects, improve test coverage, and help establish strong quality standards in a fast-moving development environment.

 

The ideal candidate combines strong manual testing fundamentals with hands-on experience in test automation and a solid understanding of modern QA practices.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Own testing activities for new features, product improvements, and bug fixes.
  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual test cases and scenarios.
  • Identify, document, reproduce, track, and validate software defects.
  • Build and maintain automated tests to improve regression coverage and testing efficiency.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand requirements and identify potential risks.
  • Ensure appropriate test coverage throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile processes, including planning, refinement, and release cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, testing practices, and overall product quality.
  • Manage testing priorities and communicate blockers, risks, and findings to relevant stakeholders.
 
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance within Agile or fast-paced development environments.
  • Strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies, test planning, and test execution.
  • Hands-on experience implementing, maintaining, and executing automated tests and testing frameworks.
  • Experience performing functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, QA processes, and release validation.
  • Experience with bug-tracking systems, test management tools, and version control platforms.
  • Strong ability to identify, reproduce, document, and validate software defects.
  • Solid understanding of test coverage, regression strategies, and QA best practices.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working closely with software engineers and product teams in Agile environments.
  • Experience expanding automated regression suites and improving testing efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize testing activities across multiple features and releases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working independently in a remote-first environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement of QA processes and engineering quality.
