--------------------------------
Overview:
SourceBridge Co. is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Platforms to build and improve modern human-data platforms in an AI-native engineering environment.
This is a full-stack engineering role where you’ll own features end-to-end, working across backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and React frontends.
The role combines traditional full-stack development with research engineering. You’ll work closely with research engineering, operations, and product teams to turn requirements into reliable production systems.
Coding agents are a primary development workflow for this role.
What You'll Own:
- Design and ship full-stack features across backend APIs, data pipelines, and React frontends.
- Own client-facing data delivery and platform infrastructure.
- Build features for exports, access control, reliability, and platform usability.
- Scope work around desired outcomes and direct coding agents through implementation.
- Review agent-generated changes at the architecture level and iterate until production-ready.
- Build and maintain services using Python/FastAPI and TypeScript.
- Contribute to data modeling, schema design, and query performance.
- Work with relational and document databases.
- Partner with research engineering, operations, and product teams.
- Improve frameworks, checks, and evaluations for agent-driven development.
- Troubleshoot production issues.
- Build resilient and observable systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–5 years of software engineering experience, or strong shipped projects as a recent graduate.
- Strong fundamentals in Python and TypeScript.
- Experience building CRUD applications with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, and React.
- Working knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQLite.
- Understanding of core data modeling principles.
- Experience deploying services on a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience using coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex as part of your development workflow.
- Ability to explain how you use coding agents effectively.
- Ability to turn desired outcomes into implementation plans, direct coding agents, verify results, and identify architectural issues that agents may miss.
- Understanding of agent loops, MCP, tool/data integrations, permissions, and security.
- Familiarity with context management, RAG, and evaluations for testing agent workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to reinforcement learning concepts or environments, including tasks, actions, and rewards.
- Experience building data pipelines or task-authoring platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
- Knowledge of DevOps fundamentals.
- Experience contributing to team projects, open-source software, or startups.
