Overview:
SourceBridge Co. is seeking experienced U.S.-based Accountants, CPAs, Chartered Accountants, and qualified tax professionals to contribute their expertise to an advanced AI evaluation project focused on U.S. tax law.
The core work involves reading and interpreting U.S. sales and use tax statutes and regulations and translating complex legal requirements into precise, testable criteria for evaluating AI-generated interpretations.
You do not need previous AI experience. What matters most is your ability to read tax statutes carefully, identify legal conditions and exceptions, and translate them into clear, structured requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret U.S. sales and use tax statutes and regulations across multiple state jurisdictions.
- Review applicable federal tax provisions when required.
- Break individual statutory sections into clear, discrete requirements for AI evaluation.
- Create detailed rubrics based strictly on statutory language.
- Assign appropriate severity levels to evaluation criteria based on the actual importance of each requirement.
- Review AI-generated interpretations of tax statutes and evaluate them against established rubrics.
- Verify conditions, thresholds, AND/OR logic, exceptions, and defined terms.
- Develop clear test scenarios, including complex and edge-case scenarios.
- Document facts, dates, amounts, and expected outcomes for test cases.
- Identify discrepancies, statutory exceptions, ambiguities, and potential interpretation issues.
- Submit structured written evaluations through a digital review platform.
- Provide precise feedback to improve technology-driven tax content.
Requirements:
- Active CPA license, Chartered Accountant (CA) designation, or experience as a U.S. tax attorney.
- Strong understanding of U.S. tax law and regulations.
- Experience interpreting tax statutes and regulations rather than solely preparing tax returns.
- Strong understanding of sales and use tax or state and local taxation.
- Ability to analyze legal logic, including conditions, thresholds, exceptions, AND/OR structures, and defined terms.
- Excellent written communication skills with a strong focus on precision.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when reviewing statutory exceptions and edge cases.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Comfortable providing structured feedback through digital review platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working across multiple U.S. state tax jurisdictions.
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
- Relevant federal tax experience.
- Experience reviewing or validating AI-generated or technology-driven tax content.
- Experience training professionals or providing written feedback on tax or legal language.
- Interest in the intersection of tax compliance, technology, and AI.
- Familiarity with digital content-review or evaluation platforms.
